How to Frame a Mirror

Happy Weekend!!!

We have another guest poster today!

I want you to meet my Mother, Sharon, from Parents of a Dozen!

Thanks Bonnie for having me here today!  I am excited to share this project with your readers.  I just love how they turned out.

I showed you how we organize our bathroom here. Below is one of the pictures I showed, and got some requests to show how we framed our mirror. We have framed several mirrors, shown below. Some of the frames we used mitered corners, and some of the frames we used straight side cuts with square corner pieces. The second way, is WAY EASIER.

The first thing to do, is to choose a casing to use for the frame. We used several different styles and kinds, the easiest to use is the MDF. The wood ones tend to warp, especially in a bathroom.
In this frame we mitered the corners, glued and then used a power nail gun to hold the corners together. We then caulked the corners, touched up the caulk with paint, and then we attached the frame to the mirror, using the method shown below.

Here are pictures with and without the frame.
(We always use Shaklee Basic H to clean the mirrors. It works great, leaves no streaks, is super concentrated, is inexpensive and safe for our family.)

When painting the casing, make sure you either prime, or buy primed boards, then paint them the color of your choice.

It is also important to paint the edge of the back side of the casing, that will be on the inside edge of the mirror, or it will show in the mirror, when it is installed.

These are the corner pieces, that we used for some of the mirrors, which made it easier to install, and I like the way it looks better.

We use double sided sticky tape, to attach the frame or pieces to the mirror. We bought this roll of tape from a garage sale, for 50 cents. I would think you could buy some of this double sided sticky tape in craft stores, or department stores that sell crafts.

Apply the tape, remove the plastic covering, and then apply to the mirror. Make sure you place it in the right spot, because it is not easy to remove.

Repeat for each piece, caulk the adjoining pieces, and touch up with paint, if necessary.

Shaklee Sports Nutrition FAQs

Hello! :)  I had such a huge response from my Shaklee Sport's Nutrition webinar last week that I wanted to follow-up with a
Q & A post for you so here you go!

Have the products changed?

A. No, the product formulations have not changed—they continue to represent leading edge science and have helped world class athletes earn more than 100 medals and they have powered seven of Time-Life’s Greatest Adventures of All Time.

Have the servings per container changed?

A. The number of servings per container of Performance and Physique remain the same. The number of servings per container of Shaklee EnergyTM Chews has increased from 10 chews to 20 chews per package.

Will the labels show clinical-study information?

A. Physique and Performance have been clinically tested. We chose to highlight these clinical studies in the Sports Nutrition product brochure and the consumer PowerPoint; due to space restrictions, however, we did not include the studies on the labels.

Can Shaklee Sports Nutrition products be used by children and/or teens?

A. Shaklee Energy Chews should not be used by children or teens. The other two Shaklee Sports Nutrition products may be used by all age groups.

Can Shaklee Sports Nutrition products be used by pregnant or lactating women?

A. Shaklee Energy Chews should not be used by pregnant or lactating women. The other two Shaklee Sports Nutrition products may be used by all age groups.

Are Shaklee Sports Nutrition products kosher certified?

A. Performance is Star-K certified, and Physique is Kosher Dairy. Energy Chews are not kosher certified.

What is OPTI-LYTETM?

A. OPTI-LYTE is a name we have given to the electrolyte blend in Performance. It is the same blend that has always been in Performance. We have chosen to name the blend to highlight a key benefit of Performance.

Why isn’t OptiCarb on the label?

A. The ingredients in OptiCarb are still in Performance.
We chose to highlight the electrolyte blend rather than the carbohydrate blend, though, because electrolytes are a top concern for most hydration-drink consumers. However, Performance still delivers the same endurance-supporting carbohydrates that have always been in the product.

Can Performance be used before sports activities?

A. Yes. Performance can be used before, during, and after sports activities. Proper hydration, including hydration before activities, is especially important for any exercise lasting 60 minutes or longer.

Can Energy Chews be used during sports activities?

A. Yes. Energy Chews can be used anytime you would like an energy boost. Consume no more than three chews every three to four hours.

How do Energy Chews help during sports activities?

A. Caffeine ingestion has been shown to improve athletic performance. Some of the many well-documented benefits of consuming caffeine include increased mental clarity, focus, and endurance.

What is BIO-BUILD?

A. BIO-BUILD is the unique Shaklee ratio of protein and
carbohydrate sources designed to optimize the body’s ability to recover after exercise and to rebuild muscle.

How should I use Physique?

A. For best results, consume immediately after working out and again two hours later to maximize the muscle-building response while muscles are recovering from exercise.

Can Physique be used before or during exercise?

A. For best results, Physique should be consumed immediately after working out and again two hours later to maximize the muscle-building response while muscles are recovering from exercise. For a healthy snack, however, Physique can be consumed at any time of day.

We LOVE and use Shaklee's Sports line all the time!  I use the Performance when working out all the time.  My husband swears by the Physique for building muscles. I also give my kids the Performance a lot during the summer.  We bring it with on bike rides, at gymnastics camp, we make popsicles with it and just drink it to stay hydrated.

I hope this answers all your questions!

If you are looking for natural, quality sports's products, I encourage you to try Shaklee and if you don't like it, you can get your money back!!

Have a great day!

INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL
A swimming pool that connects the interior with the exterior is always a good idea.
Would you like to be in a swimming pool like this?

Welcome Baby Andrew

Over the weekend, we welcomed little Andrew John into the world!

He was induced a week late and was my hardest and longest delivery by far.  He was 8.6 pounds and 21 1/2 inches long. I am glad that part is over now and I can just enjoy my little baby!

We love him so much and I can't believe how little he is.  I am trying to enjoy every moment with him because I know he will grow up soooo fast.  I just love his newborn smell and I can just stare at him for hours.

Scott stayed home this week to help and so I can rest.  Next week, I am solo so I am taking advantage now.  I will let you know how the transition is.  I am a very positive person so I am hoping everything will be ok, Scott is nervous, lol!

Here are some photos that were taken of us at the hospital.

We love him and feel very blessed to have him!

Thanks so much for all your comments, emails, thoughts and prayers.

Have a great day!

Don't forget to order your natural sunscreen today!

Hibiscus at Captain J's

(Cocoa Beach, Florida)

May 10, 2012

We left beautiful Ontario, Canada for our spring vacation on May 8. Another couple came with us who would also join us in Aruba then head back home on May 20 while we would not arrive home until the early hours of May 30. We didn't fly out to Aruba until May 12 so that gave us a bit of time for sight seeing around our vacation
